North Shore Bees is rooted in the practice of mālama ka ʻāina.
Established on the North Shore of Oʻahu in 2019 by self-taught, native Hawaiian beekeepers. What began with a few rescued colonies has now grown to over 200 hives around the island. With a deep appreciation for Hawaiʻi’s ecosystems and natural resources, we strive to support our pollinators and, therefore, the sustainability of our local food systems and biodiversity. North Shore Bees is a passion project — fueled by curiosity, joy and mālama ka ʻāina (to respect & care for the land). We recognize the necessity of maintaining a harmonious relationship with nature, and in return it will care for us. At North Shore Bees, we practice ethical and responsible beekeeping, never using pesticides or herbicides in our hives. We value the wellbeing of our bees over the production of honey.
We believe whole, functional foods allow us to feel our best.
North Shore Bees specializes in small, one-of-a-kind batches of artisanal honey — straight from the hives to you. Without the use of heat or filtration, we’re able to preserve the natural enzymes and compounds found in raw honey. We started N.S. Bees with the intention of sharing this highly beneficial resource and to help educate others on the necessary roll bees play in our ecosystem. We hope you enjoy our honey, thanks to these remarkable little insects.
Mahalo nui loa for your support!
